As an added bonus, the esteemed Dr. Robin Waples will be joining us for the night. Dr. Waples is a NOAA senior fisheries biologist at the Northwest Fisheries Science Center. His research focuses on population genetics and conservation biology of aquatic species. He is “motivated by the desire to use evolutionary and ecological principles to inform conservation and management of natural populations.”
AFS is the world’s oldest and largest organization dedicated to strengthening the fisheries profession, advancing fisheries science, and conserving fisheries resources. The Santa-Cruz Monterey Bay Area Subnit is specifically dedicated towards fueling local outreach, networking, and scientific iniatives in the Santa Cruz-Monterey region.
